Tom Marlow, 1942 - 2026

Dedicated to the memory of Tom Marlow

Tom died peacefully on 27 February 2026 after living with dementia for some time. He was a much loved dad to Gareth and Naomi, and a very proud grandad to Luke, Elly, Hannah, Callum, Dan and Rory.

Anyone who met Tom will remember that he loved talking to people, often at length but always with warmth and genuine enthusiasm. We would love this page to become a place where anyone who knew him can share photos or small memories of him - whether as family, friends, neighbours, through his work, local community life in Neston, politics, Freemasonry, or any other part of his life. Even a short line saying how you knew him would mean a great deal to us.

His funeral will take place on Friday 13 March 2026 at Chester Crematorium, followed by a gathering at the Little Fox in Thornton Hough. Anyone who would like to join us will be very welcome. Click here for funeral details and RSVP.

So sorry to hear of Tom's passing. He was always very supportive of myself and my late wife, Ruth, during her long struggle with ill health. As a fellow Chemist, I loved to hear Tom's stories of his experiences of his time working in analytical chemistry in the water industry. Condolences to Naomi, Gareth and families.

Dear Tom, Thank you for the stories, the lessons, the Cheshire cheese and ketchup sandwiches. Thank you for letting me play Xbox on your tele, and for driving to Scunthorpe to see me in school plays. I'll miss the scratch of your beard, the smell of your living room, and yes, I'll miss you talking about trains and the War and North West Water. Thanks for being my lovely Grandad, Luke
